We all know, direct sunlight damages a lot in our body. The same way, the ultraviolet rays of the sun cannot be felt, but it damages your skin in many ways like sunburns or darkens your skin. The sunlight causes brown spots, wrinkles, and it also tans your skin. It makes your skin color darker. Here are some home remedies to treat sunburn.There are a lot of precautions to be taken care of if you want to avoid getting tanned in the sun. Here are 10 such remedies to protect yourself from getting tanned.

Keep yourself covered

One of the best things you can do to protect yourself from getting tanned is covering yourself up. The sun rays are harmful between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. so, try staying indoors during this time but if you have to go outdoors then remember covering yourself up. It is said that dark colored clothes absorb heat which makes your skin darker. Try wearing lighter shades during summers.

Say no to sunbathing

Sunbathing is an awful idea when you are trying to protect your skin from the sun rays. So avoid sunbathing in the direct heat as it will make your skin look darker and full of spots. If too much sun exposure is taken then, it worsens the skin and makes it look ugly.

Lemon

We always have the lemon juice to the rescue. If you have got some areas tanned, then you can reduce it without making your skin look crackly and dry. Slice a lemon and start rubbing it on the affected areas. Doing this daily will help you get rid of the tan quickly. Just keep patience.

Milk

Milk is never harmful to your skin. If you want to avoid tanning, then start applying milk every day. It will not only make your skin tan free but also help in reducing acne. Milk will also make your skin glow.

Sunscreen

You should always apply sunscreen all over your body during summer time. Buy a sunscreen with a sun protection factor of at least 15. Spread the sunscreen in a thick amount on your body. Applying thin coating can reduce the effectiveness of the cream. Use sunscreen before going out and as often as you can so that it protects your skin from all the harmful rays of the sun.

Yogurt

If you still get tanned then apply yogurt all over the area. You can also mix some honey in the yogurt. Yogurt acts as a powerful anti-tanning product. You can also try mixing orange juice and yogurt to get rid of the tan.

Tomato

Tomato is known for its de-pigmentation properties which will help you to get rid of the tan and also protect your skin. Squeeze out the juice from one tomato or as required and then apply it to affected areas. Use chilled tomatoes, and it will help in quick healing. Let it dry for 15-20 minutes and then wash it with cold water. Tomato is also known for its anti-puffiness quality. It will not only help you in getting rid of the tan but will also make your skin glow.

Papaya

Raw papaya removes tan effectively and leaves your skin fairer. Grate a papaya and make a paste out of it. Apply it to your skin and leave it for 15-20 minutes. Do this regularly, and you will be tan free and with a softer skin.

Almonds

Almond helps in getting rid of the tan quickly, and it is also healthy for your skin. Soak some almonds in the water for two to three hours then grind then and make a scrub. Apply it to the affected areas, and it will make your skin tan-free.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is the most natural and cooling component. Slit the skin of the leaves and take out the gel and apply it to the affected areas on your body. Keep it for 10-15 minutes and use it every day for quick results. Patience is the key as it might take 2-3 months.

Potato and lemon juice

The combination of lemon juice and potato make an effective tan removal pack. It is loaded with vitamins, minerals and helps in naturally blemishing the tanned areas. Extract the juice from a lemon and a potato, mix them together and apply it to your face. Leave it for 20-25 minutes and then wash it with cool water.
