The absolute astonishment of these results revealed that it takes less than 30 seconds in total for a car to zoom from 0 to 249 and back to 0. The Guinness Book of World Records might not have confirmed Venom F5 as the fastest car yet, which officially leaves the Agera RS as the top-speed vehicle for the time being.

KOENIGSEGG AGERA RS: 278 MPH

The spec sheets on the Venom F5 by Hennessey leave a better first impression by a significant margin. The claim of being the fastest at a substantial speed of 301 mph obliterates every other thing on this article by an extensive margin, but Hennessey’s request lacks the verification of its numbers in the Guinness book of world records. Koenigsegg’s Agera RS, despite being a silver medal, in this case, remains to be the official fastest car at the speed of 278 mph. The real king of speed proved its worth to the Nevada Department of Transportation. According to the public records, 1160 HP supercar of Swedish origins hit 284.5 mph during its first run and 271.1 mph in its second run, leaving the average at 277.9mph. Thus making Agera RS as the undisputed king of top speed cars in 2018.

HENNESSEY VENOM GT: 270MPH

In 2014, Hennessey recorded a 270.4 mph run at the Kennedy Space Center tracks in a single direction. To legitimize the record, attempts are required in multiple courses and account of an average is taken upon the wind conditions. Due to Hennessey’s handmade finesse, its qualification as a production car is often questioned. Unfortunately, Hennessey’s monster; the Venom GT even at the speed of 270 mph hasn’t cut the Guinness Book of World Records.

BUGATTI CHIRON: 261 MPH

Bugatti is a ubiquitous name that comes to mind when discussing supercars. In all honesty, no lists of top speed cars are ever completed without adding Bugatti to the mix. The monumental engineering feat, called the Veyron is a marvellously performing supercar produced by Bugatti. James May, presenter of Top Gear, compared it to the Concorde that is an automobile equivalent to the monster. A decade of production later, Volkswagen Group has eventually released a successor to Veyron, called the Bugatti Chiron. It is a ruler among supercars, which is a fitting title to a car that only royalty would have the prospect of obtaining. A staggering amount of $2.6 million was tagged for each of the 500 Chiron released for the first generation.

BUGATTI VEYRON SUPER SPORT: 268 MPH

Volkswagen purchased the Bugatti brand with a singular goal of building the fastest production car on the entire planet. The original version of the Bugatti Veyron accomplished the target with a huge tagged price of $1.7 million, a quad-turbocharged W16 producing a 1000hp, large engine. The SSC Ultimate Aero was quick to dethrone this sleek beauty but being the champion Bugatti is; they introduced the Veyron Super Sport. Multiple aerodynamic changes helped gain a few extra miles each hour, thus pushing the pump to an astonishing figure of 1200 HP.

SCC ULTIMATE AERO: 256 MPH

There is certainly no connection between Shelby Supercars SSC and Caroll Shelby from Cobra fame, but for a hot minute, the SSC Ultimate Aero became the fastest production car on the planet. It beat the non-Super Sports version of Bugatti Veyron, back in 2007 at the top speed of 256 mph. But what helped it cross the threshold? The 6.3-litre twin-turbocharged, 1287 HP achieved the cosy speed. A lack of electronic driver aid to control the power creates a pure driving experience for the people of passion and talent.
