Severe acne, also known as cystic acne is a skin condition in which the skin pores get clogged with dust, dead skin cells and maybe even the oils. As a result of the skin pores getting clogged, the area may get infected with bacteria and cause the skin to become inflamed i.e. it may cause to swelling of the skin and redness around it. sWhen left untreated, this infection moves deeper into the skin and causes severe acne.

There are a lot of reasons why one might suffer from severe acne. In women, a change in their hormonal cycle during menstruation can cause an acne breakout. Severe acne (cystic acne) is also genetically linked, so if your parents had it or have it, the chances are that you will too.

All you need to do is cut the leaf with the help of a knife, take the gel and apply it on the area affected with severe acne and leave it for 15-20 minutes. What you need to do is to simply take a few pieces of potato, blend it to a paste and apply this paste on your skin. Leave it for ten minutes and wash your face.

To relieve the pain and swelling, apply ice cubes directly on your severe acne affected area. If you want, you can use an ice pack, but direct ice to skin application would help better in reducing the inflammation and relieving pain, if any.

Severe acne condition should not be left unattended or ignored. If you feel that none of the above steps has worked for you, make a doctor’s appointment and get a checkup. Home remedies are great and if they work for you all the very well, but our bodily functions differ from each other so what might work for one person won’t necessarily work for you. So if you do see your severe acne conditions improving, get yourself medically prescribed ointments. You don’t have to, and you definitely mustn’t put up with severe acne conditions.
